2020 Policies

1. Countermeasures to the falling birthrate & new concepts of family

• Strive for a city where people of any sexual orientation can live freely
• Match people using IT 
• Support childcare by combining traditional & new concepts of family
• Expand welfare for preschool children
• Move forward with plans to train childcare assistants 

2. Prepare for an earthquake that directly hits Tokyo

• Clearly define how evacuation shelters are managed in the COVID-19 era (ex. Social distancing)
• Strengthen measures to deal with secondary disasters like fires + floods
• Increase each citizens’ preparedness by conducting large scale earthquake drills 
• Utilize IT to create a disaster information network

3. The economy in the COVID-19 era

• Organize the issues involving sports + the Olympic games
• Discuss whether or not it is possible to develop an integrated resort or MICE while preventing the spread of infectious diseases
  • MICE: Meeting, Incentive travel, Convention, and Exhibition (a large space where all these events can be held)
• Improve workers’ wages by increasing prices in the food-service industry (good service should be compensated accordingly)

4. Ice age generation (around 40 years old), stand up (admin reform)

• Will receive a salary as governor and work for the people (others say they will not receive pay)
• Make decisions after listening to experts & voices from the field 
• Support citizens’ social activities by utilizing IT

• Really focuses on using IT
• Doesn’t address how he intends to deal with current issues (ex. second wave of COVID-19 cases/employment)
